The Knight Rider Car

"Knight Rider, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law."
 - Narrator

Oh I thing you remember it now. It's KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), the car with turbo boost, the car with super pursuit mode, the car that talks. It's the good old knight rider car. Well you know all about KITT and what its capable of. But Did you ever wondered what is the real car behind it?

Well the car behind the scene is '1982 Pontiac Trans Am'

Lets see the technical details of the car:

Vehicle Type: Front engine, rear-wheel drive, two-door coupe
Engine Type: Knight Industries turbojet with modified afterburners
Transmission: Eight-speed microprocessor turbodrive with autopilot
Price New: $11,400,000 (est.)
Acceleration: 0 to 60 mph: 0.2 seconds with power boosters. Standing quarter mile: 4.286 seconds
Braking (70 to 0 mph): 14 ft.
Fuel Economy: Classified, but thought to be 200 mpg

Well that was the show's specs for KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand)

let's see the real car's specs:

Vehicle Type: Front engine, rear-wheel drive, two-door coupe
Engine Type: V-8 / in 90 degree vee / Wet sumped OHV / 16 valves total / 2 valves per cylinderEngine Capacity:5 litre

That was also not too bad was it? I mean the real car is also a real beast. It has a V8 engine with 200bhp and 0 to 60 mph within 6 seconds is not bad. It's a fantastic car actually is a muscle car. Obviously this is one of the most memorable cars ever made by Pontiac. I personally love this car as a classic muscle car lover and a Kinght Rider fan.
